Disappearing Waters
24 x 24″
acrylic on hardboard
This painting was inspired by my daughters desire to move to Hawaii when she is older, she was twelve at the time. She is very concerned about the state of our environment and our treatment of the world in which we live. Her biggest fear is that she will finally reach that age of parental freedom and there will no longer be a beautiful Hawaii to move to. Here’s to believing that she will achieve her dream.
This piece started as many layers of texture, color and typographical words. All those layers add a rich history of the process of making this painting. The concept for the painting came about intuitively, as a response to my process and concurring events in my life.
