How can we encourage our daughters to reach for the sky?

This painting was created during a period that I needed to find some very creative ways to encourage my daughter to push beyond her limitations and blossom. It felt like pushing a delicate little bird off the edge of a branch, but I knew she would find her wings. The piece started as many layers of texture, color and typographical words.  All those layers add a rich history showing the process of making this work.
